And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12, NASB95).

James Tissot:The Voice from on High

Why is Jesus the only one who could break the power of death and undo the curse that plagues our world? The answer is rooted in who He is—and what He did for us.

Jesus is uniquely qualified to save because He is both fully God and fully man. In the mystery of the incarnation, the eternal Son of God stepped into our world of frailty and dust. He didn’t watch our suffering from a distance; instead, He entered it, sharing our flesh and blood so that He could taste death for everyone (Hebrews 2:14). Only by becoming truly human could He stand in our place, facing the enemy we could never conquer on our own.

Yet unlike every other descendant of Adam, Jesus was utterly without sin. No blemish, no failure, no hidden shame. His perfect life made Him the only worthy sacrifice—spotless, able to absorb the full weight of our guilt. In Him, the law is fulfilled and justice is satisfied (Hebrews 4:15).

But His perfection wasn’t just moral—it was eternal. As the Son of God, His life is of infinite value. His sacrifice covers not just one, but all. John writes, “If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins—and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world” (1 John 2:1–2).

Only Jesus could bridge the infinite gap between a holy God and a fallen humanity. Only He could offer a life stronger than death and a love that never ends. In Christ, the curse is broken, death is defeated, and the way to eternal life is open for all who believe.
